About This Opportunity
The John Howard Society 1-2-1 program offers incarcerated persons with ongoing friendship with the volunteer based upon a minimum of two visits per month and contact with the “non-institutional” community. Where possible, the volunteer will offer ongoing friendship and support to assist the incarcerated person in settling back into the community; this personal touch may have a strong and lasting influence. To volunteers, 1-2-1 offers
insight into the needs of prisoners, insight into the functioning of the penal system, and the satisfaction of understanding and helping a person in need.
