About This Opportunity

Join our team as an Administrative Assistant volunteer at Durham Deaf Services! This role involves supporting our staff with various administrative tasks, helping to ensure the smooth operation of our office. While knowledge of ASL is not required, a willingness to learn and engage with the Deaf community is encouraged.

Qualifications:

● Must be 16 years or older.

● Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.

● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 ● A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

● Administrative experience is an asset but not required.

● Enthusiasm for supporting a non-profit organization and making a difference.

To help us maintain a safe and welcoming environment, we ask that all volunteers complete a police check. This check reviews your criminal record to ensure there are no disqualifying offences. The process is handled by your local police department or an authorized agency.

Please be aware that there is a fee for this service, which you’ll need to pay upfront. Don’t forget to keep the receipt, as we’ll reimburse you for this cost. Please submit your police check application as soon as you can, giving ample time for processing.
