About This Opportunity

Provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions to students in grades 5-12, focusing on core subjects such as Math, English, Science, and Social Studies. Develop and implement personalized lesson plans tailored to the individual needs of each student. Assist students with homework, assignments, and projects, ensuring comprehension and mastery of key concepts. Prepare students for quizzes, tests, and exams by offering study strategies, review sessions, and practice assessments. Monitor and track student progress, offering regular feedback to students, parents, and program coordinators. Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and academic confidence. Participate in and support other Wings of Hope for Africa programs, including youth empowerment initiatives, community outreach, and skills development workshops. Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, attendance, and student progress. Participate in meetings, training sessions, and program evaluations as required. Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and programs of Wings of Hope for Africa, including assisting with special events or activities when needed.

  • Additional Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or enrollment in a relevant field (Education, Math, Science, English) or equivalent experience. Prior tutoring or teaching experience with students in grades 5-12 is preferred. Strong knowledge of core subjects like Math, Science, English, and Social Studies. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and passion for helping students succeed. Flexibility to assist with other programs and tasks as needed. Ability to work independently and in a team. Must pass a criminal background check.
