About This Opportunity
On Saturday June 15th, Sport Calgary is hosting our 14th Annual Free Day of Sport Discovery. Partnering with dozens of community sport groups, we work to provide youth with the chance to try a new sport and discover a new passion.
With your help, we can get more kids active and playing sport at one of our Multisport Hubs across the city!
Goals:
- Provide opportunities for children to discover a new sport and the joy of being active.
- Connect families with facilities, sport programs, and sport organizations.
- Build appreciation for the importance of Physical Literacy and multi-sport participation.
Event Day Timeline:
- 8:00am – Volunteers Arrive, Meet your Team, Set-Up.
- 9:30am - Check-In Begins.
- 10:00am - 3:00pm - Sessions Take Place.
- 2:15pm - Begin tear-down.
Main Volunteer Roles:
- Greeter
- T-shirt Distribution
- Nametag Distribution
- Check-in and registration
- On-site drop-in registration and session waitlists
Qualifications:
- Looking for high energy, outgoing individuals who are comfortable interacting with the public
- Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for sport and recreation
