Reimagine Agriculture is looking for a new board member with a passion for addressing food system issues. As a working board, this voluntary commitment involves monthly board meetings, working directly in an assigned area of the organization, directly enabling fundraising initiatives, supporting the strategic and day-to-day operations of the organization and taking on extra responsibilities as interested (estimated 7-10 hours/week).

Reimagine Agriculture is looking for a new board member with a passion for addressing food system issues. As a working board, this voluntary commitment involves monthly board meetings, working directly in an assigned area of the organization, directly enabling fundraising initiatives, supporting the strategic and day-to-day operations of the organization and taking on extra responsibilities as interested (estimated 7-10 hours/week).
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong understanding of pressing food system issues, such as food waste and conventional animal agriculture, as well as a passion to address them
- Ability to work with professionals with different backgrounds and opinions, underpinned by strong emotional intelligence and a constructive attitude
- Strong analytical/conceptual skills - big picture, strategic thinker
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a dynamic team player
- Ability to seek consultation, accept feedback, and implement advice High level of initiative and flexibility
Preferred:
- Experience as a board member in the non-profit sector
- Experience in policy advocacy (including familiarity with government processes/legislation) or fundraising
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide crucial guidance and input to planning, developing, and managing Reimagine Agriculture’s activities
- Take on an active role in one of the organization’s main working groups (e.g. fundraising, policy work, knowledge mobilization)
- Support strategic planning and implementation of the mission, vision and values of the organization
- Contribute to strategic planning and oversight of activities in the policy pillar
- Contribute to the decision-making process with knowledge, experience and strategic thinking
- Contribute to the long-term financial stability of the organization
- Help out across the organization, as needs arise
- Attend monthly board meetings, and other key meetings, as requested
We want to find a Board Member who has a strong understanding of agricultural issues and a passion for making tangible change in this critical industry. Applicants should be open-minded, thoughtful, and excited to take a hands-on approach to help Reimagine Agriculture achieve its objectives.
