Dreamers Walk Canada Inc. is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with Cerebral Palsy and those who care for them. As a non-profit organization, we channel the funds we raise directly to the Easter Seals Foundation, ensuring that every dollar makes a tangible impact.

Throughout the year, we organize a variety of exciting fundraising events, each designed to bring our community together and broaden awareness about Cerebral Palsy. Our flagship celebration, the Dreamers Walk and Family Fun Day, is an unforgettable experience for all ages—featuring the 1K, 5K and 10K Walks, music, face-painting, a marketplace, food trucks, bouncy castles, obstacle course and more. The evening program includes Dreamfest, a concert with multiple artists playing.

We invite you to join us: whether you’re interested in attending, applying, volunteering, or becoming a sponsor, your involvement helps us reach more families and amplify our support. Together, we can create opportunities, foster understanding, and build a brighter future for those affected by Cerebral Palsy. We are seeking experienced and visionary volunteers to be appointed as Board Members and possibly

Director of Social Media

The Volunteer Director of Social Media serves as a member of the non-profit Board of Directors, stewarding the organization’s digital presence and online reputation. This pivotal role focuses on conceptualizing, implementing, and evolving the non-profit’s social media strategy to expand reach, strengthen engagement, share impact stories, and foster community involvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Oversee Social Media Strategy: Create, implement, and regularly update a comprehensive social media plan aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.

• Content Creation and Curation: Design original, compelling, and mission-driven content (text, images, video, stories) for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging channels as appropriate.

• Editorial Calendar Management: Develop and maintain an editorial calendar to plan and schedule regular posts, campaigns, and organizational announcements.

• Community Engagement: Monitor, respond to, and nurture interactions with followers, supporters, stakeholders, and partners, fostering a positive and inclusive online community.

• Brand Consistency: Ensure all digital content reflects the organization’s values, tone and visual identity.

• Collaboration: Work closely with other board members, committees and volunteers to support campaigns, fundraising drives, events, and public relations initiatives.

• Analytics and Reporting: Monitor, analyze, and report on social media performance using tools such as Facebook and Instagram Insights, Twitter Analytics, etc. Adapt strategy based on data and emerging best practices.

• Education & Advocacy: Utilize social media to educate the public about the organization’s mission, raise awareness of key issues, and advocate for policy or systemic change where appropriate.

• Influencer and Partnership Development: Identify and cultivate relationships with key influencers, supporters, and partner organizations to amplify the non-profit’s reach and impact.

• Crisis Management: Monitor for and respond appropriately to negative or sensitive content, helping protect and strengthen the organization’s reputation.

Qualifications:

• Passion for the mission and values of the non-profit organization.

• Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts, preferably with a non-profit, advocacy, or

mission-driven organization.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling and copywriting.

• Proficiency with major social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social).

• Comfort with basic graphic design (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing tools.

• Knowledge of social media trends, analytics, and best practices.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team or committee structure.
