The IOOF Seniors Homes Inc. is in a momentous phase: the Board of Directors has secured approval from the Ministry of Long-Term Care for significant expansion and redevelopment projects.
We're looking for dedicated individuals eager to contribute meaningfully to the governance of our organization. The IOOF Seniors Homes Inc. is dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors through innovative supportive programs, health care services, and housing solutions. Our not-for-profit, charitable status has powered our mission for more than a century, dating back to our origins in Ontario and our establishment in Barrie in 1940.
Our facilities encompass a range of care levels: Independent Living (161-unit, condo-style apartment complex with a "Life Lease"); Supportive Housing and Rent-Geared-to-Income (80 units); Long-Term Care (facility with 162 long-term care resident beds and a specialized 20-bed Convalescent Care unit).
We are seeking new board members who can augment our team's diverse skills and experiences, particularly in the following areas: Communications, Media, and Public Relations; Human Resources and Performance Management; Engineering/Architecture; Business Management; Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)/Risk Management; Legal Expertise; Governance Relations.
Board members collaborate closely with the CEO and other board members in strategic planning, supervising organizational performance, pursuing continuous quality enhancement, managing risk, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organization. The Board convenes six times annually.
