About This Opportunity
SUMMARY OF ROLE
- Work with the Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) to plan Bone Health presentations to groups
- Reach out to these groups and plan the date and time for the presentation.
- Inform, educate and guide to relevant resources through OC website and other relevant local bone health resources supported by OC
- Complete post event survey
- Advise CEC of any issues or concerns that require attention and follow up
- Completed Volunteer Education Training
Attributes, Skills, Interest:
- Presentation and facilitation skills in a group setting an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people
- An empathetic, flexible, non-judgmental approach and an understanding of people’s needs
- Comfortable with Zoom technology, training provided
- Commitment to model inclusion and respect for diversity
- Bilingual in French is an asset
Hours and Commitment:
- Each Bone Health presentation is booked for 1 hour
- 3 – 5 hours per month, including one hour meeting, administrative, and organizational time
- OC Training
Requirements:
- Work within the guidelines of the Volunteer Program Policy and related organizational policies and procedures
- Ensure the privacy, health and safety of participants, staff and volunteers
- Act as a representative and ambassador for Osteoporosis Canada
- Resumes are strongly encouraged, but not required
