Bus Registration Volunteer


Position Overview 

Bus Registration Volunteers play an essential role in kicking off the camp week! You'll be the friendly face that welcomes campers and ensures all forms are complete, questions are answered, and everyone is ready for an amazing week ahead. If you're ready to make a meaningful impact while having a blast, this role is for you! 

Time Commitment 

As a Bus Registration Volunteer, you’ll participate in volunteer work on August 17, 2025, at the location(s) and time(s) which has been agreed upon. Specific timing varies depending on the bus registration locations in Hamilton, Toronto or Ottawa, with each requiring a half day, morning time commitment. Along with the in-person volunteer hours, virtual training is required to ensure you feel fully prepared for your responsibilities. 

Key Areas of Responsibility  

  • Support set up and take down of the bus registration station  

  • Greet families and campers  

  • Screen campers for signs of communicable illness 

  • Collect and store camper medications 

  • Ensure all camper bags are tagged with the name of the camper/family and that all campers are accounted for before bus departure.  

  • Hand over medications and documentation to the bus monitor prior to departure 

  • All Arthritis Society Canada volunteers are expected to represent the organization positively and maintain a professional relationship with all campers that does not extend beyond the confines of the camp experience


Desired Qualifications, Skills and Attributes: 

  • Valid CPR-C and Standard First Aid certification is an asset 

  • Satisfactory completion of a vulnerable sector check  

  • Comprehensive understanding of the implications of living with arthritis 

  • Passionate about working with children and youth

Availability and Working Environment: 

In addition to participating in bus registration, the volunteer will take part in camp orientation in preparation that includes a virtual connect to review bus registration policies and procedures. They will also take part in the debriefing session either in-person or teleconference and complete online evaluation survey with Arthritis Society Canada after camp.
