About This Opportunity
The Client Intake Volunteer is one of the first people our clients see when they enter the Food Bank. Volunteers must be friendly and welcoming, empathetic and have excellent customer service skills.
This position brings clients in at their appointment time, checks their photo identification and verifies everyone on file. They also ask the clients if they have any special dietary needs or have any requests. The volunteer fills out a chit with special requests and gives it to the next volunteer to get the food ready.
Client Intake volunteers will answer the door and distribute GoSnacks to those asking for one.
Client Intake volunteers also pay attention to the file, watching for school-aged children who may benefit from some of our special programs, such as the Back Pack Program and After the Bell summer snack program.
