About This Opportunity

Kiwassa Food Programs is looking for individuals who are willing to help us serve nutritious and hearty meals to children. This can include chopping vegetables, baking, making stir-fries or any number of other kitchen tasks based off your skill level and desired learning. We serve 3 meals each day of the week to over 100 kids and we are looking for volunteers to help for shifts between 9:30am and 1:30pm although we can be flexible with scheduling. We do not require a high skill level of our volunteers, just a willingness to learn and passion for community. We give preference to neighbourhood residents and those able to commit to longer-term involvement
     Duties:
     -Getting meals out to kids and community members in a timely way
     -Working in a team environment to provide nutritious, safe and tasty meals to   community 
    - Keeping kitchen clean and contributing to a culture of food safety skill used for this position
     -Prior experience working working as a cook, domestic or professionally are an   asset but not required
     - Food Safe certified, or willing to become certified
     -Ability to work effectively and get food out on time (we can help you reach this   point)
     -Friendly disposition and ability to work well with others
     -Quick learner
     -Time management
     -Clean working style -Knife skills and familiarity with basic kitchen utensils
