About This Opportunity
Second Stage Dance is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to making dance more sustainable, affordable, and accessible. We are looking to collaborate with dancers for our Youtube channel launch as we aim to inspire and educate the dance community by offering free, accessible dance tutorials and routines to dancers of all ages and skill levels.
We are seeking creative volunteers to join us as Dance Content Creators. This is a flexible role designed for dancers, teachers or choreographers who are excited to contribute their skills. Volunteers will be asked to film short routines, warm-ups, or tutorials (10–25 minutes) that can be used by dancers at home or in the studio. Alternatively, volunteers with filming or editing experience can support behind the scenes by helping us produce polished, engaging content.
This is an excellent opportunity for dancers to share their knowledge and gain teaching-on-camera experience. These videos will stay posted and we will also share with our recipient partners who are on our exclusive email list. By contributing your skills, you’ll be helping us grow our online presence, inspire a community of dancers, and expand the reach of our mission to make dance more accessible, sustainable, and inclusive.
There are a limited number of spots for this role, we will be closing this application once we have selected 5-7 volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and submit 3-4 videos per month for duration of volunteer contract
Have the ability to demonstrate modifications for different skill levels
Excellent team member with great communication skills for ongoing collaboration
Enthusiasm for content creation and willing to take initiative to make tight deadlines
Demonstrating high integrity and committed to representing the values of Second Stage Dance
Commitment We Need:
Recording schedule is flexible and can be done on your schedule, but deadlines must be agreed upon in advance. We are happy to present short or long-term contracts for students who are looking to fulfill their volunteer hours with a pre-determined agreement on the number of videos to be delivered.
Equipment Needed:
This is a remote role so please have access to a clear space that has plenty of natural light. In the event a space can not be provided, we are willing to support the right candidates with finding a space to film.
