De Mazenod Door Outreach is currently recruiting passionate and experienced individuals to join the Organizing

Committee for our First Annual Gala, taking place in September 2026. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity, offering

the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our community.

This signature fundraising event will play a vital role in supporting our ongoing mission to serve the most vulnerable

members of our community. As a Committee Member, you will be instrumental in planning and executing all aspects of

the gala. This is a hands-on role requiring commitment, collaboration, dedication and creativity. We are looking for

those with a ‘Can Do’ positive attitude who are driven to achieve results, and has the knowledge and experience to

support event planning and execution. Responsibilities include leading and supporting fundraising initiatives,

coordinating a silent auction, securing sponsorships, and contributing to event-day logistics. All initiatives and

recommendations from the Organizing Committee will be presented to and subject to the approval of the Executive Gala

Planning Committee.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a comprehensive event timeline and checklist

• Support the coordination of logistics throughout the planning period

• Lead or assist with sponsorship outreach, donor engagement, and fundraising strategies

• Oversee procurement, packaging, and display of silent auction items

• Contribute to vendor research, communication, and coordination

• Attend regular committee meetings and report on progress and action items

• Collaborate with the Executive Gala Planning Committee for approval on major decisions

Ideal Qualifications

• Proven experience in event planning, fundraising, or organizing non-profit galas

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliverables

• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team setting

• Goal-oriented and results-driven, with a strong attention to detail

• Post-secondary education in Event Management or a related field preferred

• Hands-on experience with gala or special event coordination is highly valued

• Passionate about community service and the mission of De Mazenod Door Outreach

• Available for a 12-month volunteer term, including occasional evening or weekend meeting
