About This Opportunity
Looking to create meaningful impact in just 1-2 hours per week? CNIB Vision Mate might just be for you! CNIB is seeking caring and dedicated volunteers across Lethbridge area to support local individuals with sight loss.
As a vision mate, you will be matched one-on-one with a person who is blind or has low vision, offering support with everyday activities or just having a friendly conversation. We are looking for empathetic, reliable, and kind volunteers who are open to learning and committed to building inclusive communities.
Whether you are helping with groceries, going on walks, or simply enjoying great conversation over a coffee, dedicating your time to an individual in your community will have positive impacts on their lives.
QUALITIES:
- Trustworthy, patient, empathetic, friendly
- Reliable, responsible, and organized, and must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be available for 1-2 hours a week
- Must be open to learning more about vision loss and be dedicated to helping individuals with sight loss to live more independently
