About This Opportunity
Responsibilities include:
Creating a fun, interactive and informal class atmosphere; with a goal of improving conversational English.
Preparing and organizing materials for a fun and engaging class (i.e., handouts, props, etc.).
Assessing needs, objectives, and progress of each student in the class.
Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and strategies appropriate to the students’ abilities.
Securing and/or generating relatable materials to enrich the classroom experience.
Providing appropriate reinforcement and feedback to students.
Providing a respectful, constructive, and communicative classroom experience.
Adhering to JFSC’s standards including representing the agency in a positive and professional manner.
Tuesday classes are basic English (beginner), Thursday classes are conversational English (intermediate to advanced).
Qualifications:
A good command of the English language.
Passion for making a difference in someone’s life.
Ability to speak a second language an asset but not mandatory.
Previous teaching experience an asset.
