About This Opportunity
MOVE FOR SIGHT is an inclusive family friendly in person event that unites the vision loss community to raise awareness and critical funds for vision research, treatments and education. The morning entails activities for all ages, live music, delicious food and exciting entertainment. Then, gather with family, friends and colleagues for a meaningful walk that will get us all moving for a brighter future.
What does a Move For Sight Event Day Volunteer do? A variety of roles are available:
- Registration - help sign in participants, collect fundraising forms and money
- Route Marshall - be the cheerleader/encourager while ensuring participants stay along the marked path
- Refreshments Monitor- ensure everyone stays hydrated before/after their 'move' activity
- Activities Zone - games, colouring, yoga, etc - help explain/encourage game play and activities available
- Set up/Tear Down - everyone pitches in to get the stations set up before the event officially begins, and we all work together after
Our ideal volunteer is over 16 (or has a parent/guardian supervising); enthusiastic, compassionate and willing to learn about the vision loss community. We welcome all volunteers to tell a friend, coworker or sign up together as a small group (up to 5).
