Volunteer one to two hours of your time to help out expecting or young mothers under 26 in the Durham religion by delivering free bags of groceries to help feed their families.
We are looking for volunteers to deliver food parcels to our ‘Food 4 Thought’ program participants across Durham Region. Food 4 Thought delivers food to young pregnant mothers throughout Durham region The time commitment is 1-2 hours every Tuesday, with pickup of parcels at our Ajax office at 12:00 pm. Deliveries are anywhere between Pickering and Bowmanville, but we will divide up routes to make it as short and efficient as possible. Teams will need to use a cell phone to call/text the recipient when they are on their way and when they arrive. Volunteers do not go into the recipients’ homes – they just deliver and allow the recipient to pick up their food parcel outside their door.
