About This Opportunity
Volunteer duties may include:
• Greet, welcome and support community members to choose food items & explaining Food Bank guidelines.
• Assist staff with cleaning and sanitation of work/surrounding areas.
• Assist staff with preparing and moving bags to/from food bag sorting area to distribution area. Follow all safety protocols and practices, as explained to you onsite, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all persons.
Desired Skills: Customer service, Communication (oral & verbal), diversity/ cultural awareness and sensitivity, poverty awareness, mental health awareness
IMPORTANT: Volunteers must be able to lift (50lbs consistently), bend, reach, stretch, walk, and stand. NOTE: Volunteers can sign up for available shifts online via our VolunteerHub website (first come first serve)
NOTE: While the volunteer venue is wheel chair accessible, the space/s where volunteer role is done cannot "easily/comfortably" accommodate someone using a wheel chair.
