About This Opportunity

Every day, VON volunteers help make Canadian communities healthier. If you want to give back to your community by sharing your time and caring for others, we have a role for you. When you become a VON Volunteer we will match your interests and availability to a volunteer role that’s right for you. We offer the training you need and ensure you are supported through frequent communication – support is always a call away.

A Volunteer Visitor offers support and social interaction to an isolated individual through regular friendly visits at the client’s home or out in the community, encouraging active and independent living. The volunteer in this role will:

- Provide weekly visits to a lonely and/or isolated senior in the community to offer social engagement and companionship

- Make visits that are 1-2 times a week and anywhere from 1-3 hours long

- Must have at least 2 doses of the Covid vaccine and provide proof

Volunteer Requirements

Whether you meet these requirements or not, we encourage you to share your interest in us. You may still be a fit for a different opportunity with our organization.
