ABOUT US
Since 1998, Shakespearience has been delivering inclusive, interactive, non-competitive programs to students in Grades 3-12 for the purpose of developing character, confidence and transferable soft skills, such as critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, empathy, collaboration and teamwork. Its core activities include an in-class workshop that gets into more than a hundred schools a year all over Ontario between September and June, a summer program for under-resourced adolescents and an after-hours program for at risk youth. By demonstrating how seemingly insurmountable challenges like Shakespeare’s language can be overcome with a little persistence, imagination, concentration and application, the organization fosters confidence, builds resiliency and enhances communication skills, educating students while positively impacting the way they think, feel, behave and relate to themselves and each other. In the interests of equity and fairness, all of Shakespearience’s programming is provided at no cost to school staff and students. We rely entirely on corporate, foundation and individual donations to help us deliver our current three programs.
