Who we are: 

Located in southwestern Scarborough, Variety Village is an inclusive, adaptive and family friendly facility serving more than 30,000 individuals each year. With approximately one half of its members with a disability, Variety Village has had and continues to have a profound impact on the lives of people with disabilities and their families. Through adaptive sport and recreation programming, outreach and education, Variety promotes inclusion and healthy living through adapted physical activity. Variety Village is looking to raise funds for creating more accessible spaces and programs for our Variety community!

We are looking for individuals who will help secure donations for our various fundraising events throughout the year. Your role will involve reaching out to relevant businesses, organizations, and individuals to ask for donations of goods, services, or experiences that will attract bidders and contribute to our fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Research potential donors within the community. 

• Be our Variety Ambassadors by contacting businesses and organizations via phone or email to request donations. 

• Provide information about Variety Village, our event, the significance of their contribution through donations, and how their goods will benefit our programs and services. 

• Follow up with potential donors to answer questions and secure commitments. 

• Maintain records of donor communication and donation details Key Competencies, Skills, and Qualifications: 

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 

• Great customer service skills. 

• Excellent phone etiquette and professionalism with emails. 

• Comfortable reaching out to potential donors and making requests. 

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

• Ability to work independently.

• Passion for supporting the cause of Variety Village and Variety- The Children’s Charity of Ontario 

Training will be provided onsite.
