About Good Neighbour Project: 

The Good Neighbour Project (GNP), launched in March 2020, is a Canadian charity dedicated to providing on-the-ground support to connect isolated vulnerable people with resources and necessities. Created at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, GNP mobilized over 6000 volunteers in 25 cities to address an access gap between equity-seeking members of the community and essential items like food and medication. In addition to its volunteer delivery support program and seniors socialization initiative, GNP is currently developing other poverty relief initiatives.

About Role: 

The Good Neighbour Project (GNP) is seeking a community-focused and passionate individual to join our team as a Fundraising Officer. The Fundraising Officer will be responsible for the execution of in-person and online fundraising campaigns to support various GNP programs. They will collaborate with the communications and events teams to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies, oversee GNP fundraising events and manage donor relationships to drive financial support for the organization.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute fundraising campaigns that align with the organization’s objectives 
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop compelling marketing materials 
  • Lead the events team, manage fundraiser budgets, and coordinate logistics to deliver in-person and online events 
  • Brainstorming and executing additional streams of revenue for the organization, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and crowdfunding 
  • Issue charitable tax receipts in compliance with CRA regulations 
  • Implement effective donor management practices
The Ideal Candidate has the following: 
  • Prior experience in fundraising campaigns and event management 
  • Experience in issuing charitable tax receipts and donor management practices 
  • Networking and stakeholder management experiences in a not-for-profit/charity setting 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and most social media platforms 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to cope well under pressure 
  • Experience with developing ideas into action and the ability to coordinate a team to execute the idea
Volunteer Time Commitment: 
  • A minimum of 5 hours to a maximum of 10 hours per week
