Position Description 

Sawa World is looking for a Fundraising Volunteer to fill the important role of developing and executing fundraising strategies to raise money and aid with the financial needs of the organization. This position will involve arranging fundraising activities, researching and compiling grant applications, and engaging donors by spreading awareness about Sawa World’s mission. The fundraising volunteer will also assist in preparing an annual fundraising report. The time commitment will be approximately 3-5 hours per week. 

Location: Remote, in Canada 

Main Duties 

Fundraising campaigns and events 

• Develop and execute annual fundraising plans and strategies 
• Coordinate and manage fundraising events, campaigns, and activities to meet fundraising goals. 
• Evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and provide helpful feedback 

Grant proposals 

• Research potential grants and fundraising appeals 
• Draft and compile grant proposals to secure funding for the organizations' activities and initiatives 

Potential donors and sponsorship opportunities 

• Contact and connect with potential donors and sponsorship organizations. 
• Maintain relationships with individual donors, sponsors, and foundations.

Fundraising report 

• Track and report on fundraising progress and metrics. 
• Evaluate past fundraising campaigns and compile feedback for future initiatives 

Qualifications 

• Passion for the mission of Sawa World and a commitment to its initiatives and values. 
• A proven track record of fundraising success through events, donor relations, and grants with a similar organization. 
• A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role. 
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 
• Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills. A
• bility to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and staff.
