About This Opportunity
If your interested in learning about urban farming and/or gardening and working outdoors, this position is for you.
We have 3 x 100 ft beds at Flemo Farm (150 Grenoble Drive) and a community garden (90 Parma Court)
We are looking 6 volunteers to help us maintain our farm/garden plot 2-3 days a week.
•Site preparations including laying down composting and amendments, removing and laying down drip tape and tar
• Direct sow and Transplanting
•Mulching
• Pruning and staking
• Weeding and maintenance
• Harvest, clean, sort, store, pack produce
• Monitoring and record plant health: pests and disease
• Permaculture
• daily logging
• Maintaining greenhouse and plot areas
• Assist community farmers and gardeners in their plot
• Assist at markets: set up take down,
• harvest mushroom
• Site clean up
• Tours

Requirements:
Willing to learn
Friendly
Independent but able to work as team
25-30 pounds regularly
Bending, kneeling, squatting
