About This Opportunity
In this role you oversee security, monitor logbooks and receive deliveries and ensuring visitors and guests to Grace Manor are greeted warmly and directed to the appropriate person or department. This is the perfect volunteer role for someone who enjoys answering questions and interacting with a wide variety of people.
The volunteer will greet visitors with a smile, helping to create a welcoming environment. You will direct visitors to the appropriate resource personnel, department, or area of the building. Ensure visitors use the logbook to sign in and out of the facility. Remind visitors to wear PPE, use hand sanitizer and follow hygiene protocols currently in place. Receive deliveries as needed and inform appropriate staff.
Good, clean communication skills are required, ability to follow through with direction. Positive attitude, willingness to help others, flexibility, assertive and confidence in your role. Familiarity with Geriatrics and./or vulnerable populations (addictions, mental health, homelessness) an asset, but not necessary.
The work environment is typically agreeable at work sites within residential settings and may require working under the following conditions: dealing with potentially disagreeable participants.
Length of shift: 2 hours minimum
Available Shift Times: Weekdays 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday thru Friday or Weekends Saturdays/Sundays 8:00 am to Noon and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
