About This Opportunity

As an effective Grant Writer you are proficient at online research and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Duties will include but are not limited to the following: Study and understand Starlight's history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs. Research and identify grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies specific to children's health and note deadlines. Draft grant proposals/applications and gather all supporting organizational documents and ensure the proposal meets all stated grant criteria. Work with the BC & AB Program Manager to refine the proposal / application well in advance of the deadline to submit. 

Submit grant applications and all supporting documents by the grants stated deadline, and respond to internal and external queries on proposals and submitted applications. As the Grant Writer, you will also maintain all grant records and provide a monthly update regarding status of grant applications and responses, noting which were awarded and or declined and why won or lost. 

You will work to create positive relationships with fund providers and stakeholders within organizations who have previously awarded and or declined our grant applications.
