About This Opportunity
Who We Are:
Reena is a non-profit organization that promotes dignity, individuality, independence, personal growth, and community inclusion for people with diverse abilities within a framework of Jewish culture and values since 1973.
The Opportunity:
Join Reena’s groundbreaking urban farming program “GReena”, where Individuals with diverse needs and abilities along with the greater community, grow vegetables in community gardens, Reena facility backyards, and in spaces contributed by partner organizations. Volunteers can expect to get their hands dirty assisting with tasks that could include assembling garden beds, maintaining plants, harvesting & other farming activities.
This role is flexible in nature and volunteers can commit to one or multiple volunteer sessions between June and October.
Reena requires all volunteers to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 & volunteers must provide proof that they have received at least 3 doses of a vaccine before they begin their placement. Reena requires all volunteers over the age of 18 to obtain and provide a “clear” Vulnerable Sector Screening before beginning their placement.
Reena is committed to providing accessible employment & volunteer practices that comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act ('AODA'). If you require accommodation for a disability during any stage of the volunteer onboarding process, please notify the Volunteer Department.
