About This Opportunity

The Downtown Whitby BIA will have a booth set up at Jacked Up Coffee for the Home Sweet Home Helps the Homeless initiative. Setup is currently scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m., though this time is tentative and subject to change. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help manage and support our initiative throughout the day. Volunteers will assist with engaging attendees, collecting donations, organizing supplies, and helping ensure the booth runs smoothly. Volunteer coverage will be needed from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with two shift options available to accommodate different schedules. Additional details, including shift times, volunteer responsibilities, and event-day instructions, will be shared closer to the event date. Thank you for helping us make a positive impact in our community!

Volunteer Responsibilities

Volunteers may assist with:

  • Greeting visitors and sharing information about the initiative
  • Collecting and organizing donated items
  • Supporting the Donate for Dunks fundraiser and managing lineups
  • Tracking donations and fundraising totals
  • Assisting with event setup and teardown
  • Ensuring the volunteer area remains clean, organized, and welcoming

About the Initiative

Home Sweet Home Helps the Homeless brings the community together to support those experiencing homelessness in Whitby. Through the Pack with Purpose program, festival attendees help raise money for Summer Essential Kits containing items such as spray bottles, sunscreen, aloe vera gel, sunglasses and more. The Donate for Dunks fundraiser encourages donations through a community dunk tank featuring local leaders and personalities. All proceeds and donated items support individuals in need within the local community.

Training and instructions will be provided on-site.
