Job Description – Human Resources Volunteer Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Placement Volunteer’s primary role is to provide administrative support related to documentation creation and editing for both the Human Resources and the Health & Safety Programs at SASC.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Documentation and Administration
This role will require the Volunteer to create, edit and/or update existing HR documents.
Further, in supporting the organization’s Health & Safety Program, the Volunteer will assist in the creation of staff trainings and research/search for information regarding health, safety and wellness on the internet and create draft documents/presentations in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager.
Most of the work will be done in MS Word so it will be important for the Volunteer to have a sound working knowledge of Word. There may be some basic Excel spreadsheet work and the ability to create slides in PowerPoint and work within Canva would be considered an asset.
Note: In a small agency, individuals may be required to perform tasks outside of their specific job description to accomplish the SASC’s purpose.
Working Conditions:
This job is ideally suited for the Volunteer to work virtually from home.
Much of the work involves sitting and keyboarding but breaks for stretching and moving about is encouraged. If working remotely, there will be very minimal in-person and socializing, however virtual socialization is very likely.
