About This Opportunity
In-School Mentoring (ISM) is a lunchtime 1:1 program offered in St. John’s metro-area elementary schools to youth ages 6-11.. This mentoring program matches adult mentors with children in primary/elementary school. Weekly meetings at school help improve children’s confidence & self-esteem, promoting friendship and educational engagement.
Children who can benefit the most from mentoring relationships are identified by teachers and guidance counsellors. BBBS mentees are children who face adversity and need more developmental relationships in their lives. Like all BBBS mentees, they come from a variety of backgrounds and have vast differences in life experiences, but the thing that unites them all the fact that they can benefit from an additional positive supporter and champion in their lives, helping them reach their potential and appreciate all that they have to offer and celebrate their authentic selves.
