About This Opportunity

Katimavik’s National Experience is an amazing opportunity for Canadian citizens, permanent residents or landed refugees ages 17-25 who are looking to enhance their lives through creative learning, community engagement and self-discovery. During this 22 week program, groups of 11 diverse youth will have the opportunity to discover 2 Canadian communities. Throughout this time, they will contribute up to 32 hours of valuable volunteer work a week, engage in Truth learning and active Reconciliation, and develop competencies related to Civic Engagement, Employability and Self Determination. As individuals they will develop independent living skills by taking turns managing a household, and gain confidence that they themselves can make an impactful difference in our country. They will navigate through challenging new situations which help empower them and enhance resiliency as individuals and as a group, whilst contributing to their local community and creating life-long friendships.

This is a fully funded opportunity where participants’ travel expenses, living accommodations, food costs, and daily needs are covered. All they will need to bring is their dedication, empathy, and commitment to making a better world!
