About This Opportunity

York Region Educational Services (YRES) is dedicated to leading community volunteerism as a proud recipient of Canada's Volunteer Award, through providing a wide range of volunteer positions in communities in the Greater Vancouver Area, Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Alberta. We are looking for a LEGO Art program Volunteer—someone devoted to giving back to their community, making an impact, and who loves socializing. 


The LEGO Science Volunteer is responsible for: 

- First point of contact for visitors; greet and answer any questions/inquiries 

- Collaborating with other volunteers and staff to ensure a smooth flow of activities

- Responsible for capturing key moments during the event - for purposes of promotion, social media, and post-event reports

- Assist in set up and clean up of activities; consistent number count of YRES property

- Providing feedback on the event 

- Arriving to the event independently

📍 Thornhill Community Centre Library - 7755 Bayview Ave, Thornhill, ON L3T 4P1


Date & Time: 

🗓️ Saturday, November 1st, 2025 


Shift: 1:30pm to 3:30pm

Who We're Looking For: 

✔ Minimum age: 12 

✔ Able to independently arrive to work on time 

✔ Passionate about volunteering and excited to learn 

✔ Can commit to scheduled time of event

✔ Fluency in English

✔ Highly organized, detail-orientated and capable of managinig multiple tasks 


Bonus Skills: 

✔ Previous experience in event planning and coordinating

✔ Fluency/high proficiency in a language other than English considered an asset
