MAiDHouse Social Media Manager - Volunteer Objectives:

MAiDHouse is currently seeking a part-time Social Media Manager on a volunteer basis.

This position will be completed remotely.

• Help launch an important community resource from the ground up?

• Run the social media channels for a growing community resource?

• Support the development of an audience base for MAiDHouse?

• Focus on supporting fundraising efforts through careful strategies?

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Create a social media strategy based on the current communications and content strategy

• Create monthly social media content, including graphics from templates and copy for posts

• Schedule content in Hootesuite

• Engage with MAiDHouse’s social media audience, including both incoming messages and outgoing reactions to others

• Work with Executive Director and Chair of Communications Committee to develop and execute strategy

• Participate in measuring platforms effectiveness against established goals

• Work to grow MAiDHouse social media presence and audience

Qualifications:

• Social media and communication experience

• Willingness to learn or build skills in not-for-profit communications a must

• Passion for supporting the rights of Canadians for end-of-life choice, including but not limited to access to MAiD, with a strong commitment to the mission and values of MAiDHouse

• Strong understanding of social media

• Ability to promote the voice and compelling message of MAiDHouse

• Ability to work collaboratively and independently

• Considerable skill in writing

• Strong attention to detail
