Volunteer Managing Director of Smiles in Action (SIA) 

Position Overview: 

The Volunteer Managing Director of Smiles in Action (SIA) will lead the strategic, operational, and financial management of SIA’s Fitness and Dance programs. This role requires a dedicated and visionary leader who can drive program growth, enhance community outreach, and ensure the sustainability and impact of SIA initiatives. The Managing Director will work closely with the Smiles Foundation team, volunteers, instructors, and community partners to promote wellness and positive community impact. Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: 

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the reach and impact of SIA Fitness and Dance programs. 
  • Provide leadership to align organizational goals with the mission of promoting wellness and community outreach through SIA. 
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and creativity among the organization's staff, volunteers, and instructors. 

Program Development and Enhancement: 

  • Collaborate with the Smiles Foundation and SIA teams to continually enhance the quality and adaptability of Fitness and Dance programs. Introduce innovative elements to keep SIA programs engaging and aligned with industry trends. 
  • Ensure SIA programs cater to diverse audiences, including individuals, couples, schools, senior organizations, and workplaces. 
  • Review and organize all prerecorded and developed program materials for ease of use and adaptability. 
  • Suggest and implement further changes needed for the enhancement and growth of the program. 

Financial Management: 

  • Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure program sustainability and growth. 
  • Seek funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships to support program expansion and community outreach initiatives. 
  • Implement cost-effective measures to maximize the impact of SIA dance and wellness programs. 

Operational Oversight: 

  • Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring the seamless delivery of SIA Fitness and Dance programs. 
  • Collaborate with instructors and program coordinators/directors to maintain high standards of quality and participant satisfaction. 
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement. 
  • Maintain regular and effective communication with all SIA parties through emails, meetings, and phone calls. 

Community Engagement and Outreach: 

  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with program participants, partner organizations, and the broader community. 
  • Develop and implement outreach initiatives to bring SIA Fitness and Dance programs to underprivileged communities and organizations. 
  • Actively participate in community events and collaborations to raise awareness and expand program accessibility. 
  • Represent SIA at community events, conferences, and networking opportunities. 
  • Develop partnerships with schools, community organizations, and businesses to enhance the organization's reach and impact. 

Team Leadership and Development: 

  • Foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture that aligns with SIA's commitment to wellness and community impact. 
  • Provide leadership and support to the team for the successful execution of programs and outreach activities. 
  • Suggest and implement innovative ideas for the betterment and expansion of the program. 

Marketing and Promotion: 

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies, with the support of the Smiles Foundation, to increase program enrollment and raise awareness of SIA programs. 

  • Utilize various marketing channels, including social media, traditional media, and partnerships, to enhance the organization's visibility. 
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging promotional materials and campaigns. 

Monitoring and Evaluation: 

  • Implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess program impact and participant satisfaction. 
  • Use data to inform strategic decisions and adjust programs to better meet the needs of diverse audiences. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. 
  • Proven experience in program management, strategic planning, and community outreach. 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. 
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain partnerships with various stakeholders. 
  • Passion for wellness, fitness, and community service. 
  • Familiarity with marketing strategies and tools to promote programs effectively. 
  • Must be available to volunteer during the week (Monday-Friday) at least 2-3 days for 3 hrs/day (between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm).
