About This Opportunity
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the work we do at Big Brothers Big Sisters. All of our programs are dependent on like-minded people who are invested in making a difference, and we value each and every one of them. With multiple programs to choose from, finding the right fit for you, your goals and availability is easy.
For most programs, volunteers need to be 18 years or older, with the exception of our school-based teen mentorship program which is for high school students aged 16 – 18.
Community-based Mentors
In this program the volunteer mentor (Big) and mentee (Little) spend time together by participating in a variety of activities, such as riding bikes, reading, cooking, going to the park, eating ice cream.
School-based Mentors
This in-school program is open to adults and teens (age 16+) and takes place at select schools throughout Red Deer and area. Volunteers visit with their mentee, in their school, during school hours, and spend time doing fun things that they both agree on, including playing games, reading together, talking, or even homework.
