About This Opportunity
REALM helps people with disabilities or their families create Personal Volunteer Support Networks to help them create community. Each network is made up of 5 to 8 volunteers who work together to accomplish goals identified by the person at the Centre. We are currently helping 3 people create their own family-focused personal networks and we are looking for at least 6 volunteers who can commit approximately 2+ hours each month - one hour to attend a network meeting (likely in-person) and at least 1 hour to take on tasks agreed at the meeting. We are asking for a year commitment. As a REALM support network volunteer you might be researching, taking notes at meetings, or sharing your ideas, experience and expertise. Each network is different and goals and needs change. We need a variety of skills but most importantly bringing people together to share ideas and life experience is life changing for everyone involved. We guarantee in just a couple of hours each month you will be contributing in ways you can't imagine. For more information about what a Personal Volunteer Support Network is or what it means to be a valued network volunteer, please visit the Create a Network page on our website at www.realmfoundation.ca, to watch our brief videos.
