About This Opportunity
Purpose: The Volunteer Photographer is responsible for recording the activities, milestones and people associated with the Centre through photos to preserve history and record current record of CCHC’s work for future generations.
Time Commitment: Ranges from 0 to 5 hours per month Dates and hours to be determined by events and activities
Reports to: Designated Manager
Number of Volunteer Needed: Varies- minimal of 1-2 Responsibilities:
• Attend and take photos to document Centre events, activities, programs, and people
• Provide the Centre with a selection of digital images and edit as required
• Liaise with Centre staff and volunteers to determine photo images needed to support specific public relations and marketing initiatives
• Obtains appropriate release forms for use of photos by the Centre
• Become familiar with and abide by the Centre’s Volunteer Policies and Procedures
• Become familiar with the programs and services provided by the Centre as well as the Model of Care
• Attend any training sessions and volunteer meetings as required • Working indoors and/or outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Promote diverse, inclusive photography Qualifications:
• Skill in digital photography, preferably at a professional level
• Provide his/her own equipment • Great people skills – friendly, professional and outgoing
• Creative and takes initiative • Solid knowledge of editing photos and uploading to a computer
• Able to attend Centre events and activities • Dependable and punctual • Transportation to and from event locations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Successful completion of the Police Vulnerable Sector Check process • Working knowledge of cameras and their usage
• Ability to be self-directed and to complete assigned tasks. Success Measures:
• Extensive collection of high quality images that can be used to promote the Centre and its programs and services to potential donors and the general public
• Record of CCHC’s events for progress measurement.
• Evokes emotion, tells a story or captures a moment in a unique and powerful way. Limits and Boundaries:
• All mileage and expenditures must be pre-approved by designated manager
• Any pictures taken while acting as a CCHC Volunteer Photographer become property of CCHC. Rights Reserved. Photographs are strictly the property of CCHC and shall not be shared outside of CCHC. Orientation/Training:
• New Volunteer Orientation to CCHC and its Volunteer Policies and Procedures
• Position-specific training • Accessibility and Violence and Harassment training • In-service training on relevant topics
• Ongoing support from staff
