About This Opportunity

YouCreate is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Podcast Editor to join our team in producing Mynistypiksiiks (Many Different Birds), a podcast focused on Indigenous perspectives on health and wellness. As the Podcast Editor, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of our episodes, ensuring that they engage and resonate with our audience.

Responsibilities

  • Edit podcast episodes to create a polished final product, including audio editing, sound mixing, and incorporating music and sound effects. 
  • Ensure clarity and coherence in conversations, enhancing the overall listening experience. 
  • Review recorded content for quality, making necessary adjustments to improve audio fidelity and flow.
  • Collaborate with the Podcast Manager and co-hosts to meet production deadlines and provide feedback on episode structure. 
  • Maintain organized files and archives of episodes and related materials. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in podcast editing to continuously improve the quality of our productions.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Audacity, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools). 
  • Strong attention to detail and an ear for audio quality. 
  • Experience in podcast production or audio editing is preferred. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team. 
  • Interest in Indigenous health and wellness topics is a plus.

Time Commitment: This role requires a commitment of 6-12 hours per month.
