About This Opportunity

This is a Hybrid Job, with once a week in-person onsite and rest virtual/online flexi hours. Under the supervision of the President and Director Operations, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for providing event and administrative support to all the programs currently being offered for the seniors residing in the City of Mississauga and surrounding areas of the GTA. Working closely with the team, the Program Coordinator will ensure the delivery of high-quality program and will support the development, implementation and evaluation of such programs for seniors, playing a vital role in promoting and expanding the vision of WQT Masjid in the City of Mississauga. 

The ideal candidate is a master at complex scheduling and event planning and delivers a superior client-centered experience to all participants based on the clear approach of WQT Masjid as an inclusive platform that welcomes all who want to attend and offer programs to remove barriers to inclusion and integration leading towards stronger and healthier communities with seniors at the center of such well-connected and resilient communities. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Scheduling day-to-day project activities

• Acting as the first point of contact for event-related enquiries

• Verifying details and necessary changes to event schedule

• Coordinating the schedule for program and event calendars

• Coordinating event logistics (catering, AV, room bookings, etc.)

• Resolving issues within the scope of the role and escalating problems as required

- Any other as is required to run and manage these programs effectively.

  • Minimum 16 years old
  • Additional Requirements
  • A Diploma or a degree in marketing, outreach, community development, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum three years recent experience related to program and event planning, or community development and outreach
  • Experience working across sectors, including community organizations, not-for-profits, local and provincial governments, and private enterprise
  • Experience delivering high-quality and high-impact, seminars, events, workshops, conferences (in-person and virtual).
  • Demonstrated high degree of diplomacy and tact, and ability to adapt communication style to different audiences
  • Demonstrated excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet strict and competing deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative skills; demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships at all levels
