About Good Neighbour Project:
The Good Neighbour Project (GNP), launched in March 2020, is a Canadian charity dedicated to providing on-the-ground support to connect isolated vulnerable people with resources and necessities. Created at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, GNP mobilized over 6000 volunteers in 25 cities to address an access gap between equity-seeking members of the community and essential items like food and medication. In addition to its volunteer delivery support program and seniors socialization initiative, GNP is currently developing other poverty relief initiatives.
About Role:
The Good Neighbour Project (GNP) is seeking a community-focused and passionate individual to join our team as a Programs Officer. The Programs Officer will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations and continuous improvement of the organization’s various programs. Specifically, they will oversee the budget, recruitment, training, and administrative needs for GNP projects while also bringing new ideas and opportunities for program development to the forefront of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations for GNP’s Delivery Support program and Care Calls
- Manage allocated budget and identify recruitment needs for all programs
- Identify areas of improvement and implement new strategies to sustain programs based on understanding of volunteer resources and the needs of the community
- Provide training and ongoing support to program volunteers, keeping them motivated and resolving any arising problems
- Research and develop new programs for GNP that address emerging challenges within the community it serves
- Ensure the administration and documentation for all programs is standardized and up-to-date
The Ideal Candidate has the following:
- Prior experience with project development, management, and execution
- Networking and stakeholder management experiences in a not-for-profit/charity setting
- Sound decision making and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and most social media platforms
- Experience with developing ideas into action and the ability to coordinate a team to execute the idea
Volunteer Time Commitment:
- Minimum 10 hours to maximum 15 hours per week
