About This Opportunity
Your main duties and responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a plan to recruit runners/walkers to participate and fundraise for ASO in the TWM (October, 2024)
- Work closely with Canada Running Series (the TWM event coordinators) to ensure ASO maintains its official charity status and keep up to date about event news/information
- Implement a fundraising plan that includes finding corporate sponsors, donor outreach and working closely with the ASO Social Media Team to achieve this goal
- Get involved in recruiting a team of volunteers for your team to support in fundraising and other TWM team goals
- Engage TWM Team members via periodical check-ins to monitor and support team’s progress towards goals
- Maintain and update ASO TWM database
- Work with the ASO Marketing Team to discover stories about runners and team members to share in the media and on social platforms
- Other TWM related tasks
What are we looking for from you:
- Self-starter with outstanding communication skills both verbally and written
- Proven experience in Fundraising, Sales or Sponsorship, preferably in a target-driven role
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team Knowledge of basic recruitment practices
- Well-organized with multi-tasking skills
- Able to remain calm and navigate potentially stressful situations
- Problem-solving ability
- Background in Sales, or Fundraising preferred
- Experience working with a non-profit an asset
Trainings included:
- Structured training offered by Canada Running Series
- Organizational training offered by ASO
Technology Capabilities Requirement: Remote access ability. You will be required to use your own computer/laptop and will be given access to an ASO gmail account that you will use to conduct all ASO- related correspondence. You must be familiar with online web-conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).
Time commitment: 10 - 15 hours/per week (remote), slightly heavier time commitment closer to event date (October 20, 2024)

Duration: Start immediately until submission of final reports to ASO management after the event. The ASO is a small charity with big heart! We don’t receive any government funding and rely on volunteers like YOU to carry out our mission. We operate virtually so that we can direct our money to where it’s best used – providing help to those who need it! All of our services are offered FREE of charge.
