Purpose of the Job:
The Public Relations Manager's role is to amplify Inspired to Uplift’s mission of inspiring and empowering individuals through strategic communication and media outreach. The role is focused on building awareness, fostering community relations, and generating support by showcasing success stories and managing public perception. Additionally, it involves handling crisis communication, creating compelling content, and overseeing the promotion of events to enhance the organization's visibility and impact.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote the Mission: Develop and execute PR strategies to effectively communicate the organization’s mission of inspiring and empowering individuals, enhancing overall visibility and impact.
Media and Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, community leaders, and influencers to secure positive coverage and support for the organization’s initiatives.
Content Creation: Craft and oversee the creation of compelling content, including press releases, social media posts, and newsletters, to highlight the organization’s achievements and engage stakeholders.
Event Management: Plan, promote, and manage events such as fundraisers, workshops, and outreach programs to support the organization’s goals and enhance community involvement.
Crisis Management: Handle communication during any crises or negative situations to protect the organization’s reputation and ensure accurate information is conveyed to the public.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Must be a current university student in Canada (critical).
Proven experience with graphic design and marketing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) with a strong portfolio (critical).
Experience managing social media accounts and creating content, including User-Generated Content (UGC) (critical).
Comfortable appearing in front of the camera for social media and other digital content creation (critical).
SEO experience is a plus (non-critical).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail (critical).
