About This Opportunity

Responsibilities: 

  •  Assist with planning, organizing and facilitating recreational activities for the residents; This can include, games, arts and crafts, music or pet therapy, exercise programs, gardening, reading, and any other forms of entertainment. 
  • Engage in meaningful conversations and providing companionship to residents. 
  • Assist with with serving meals, and feeding residents. 
  • Supporting special events (Birthdays, holiday parties, or cultural festivities). 
Qualifications: 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Patient 
  • Friendly and welcoming demeanor. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks. 
  • Responsible and dependable. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player. 
  • Ability to follow instructions with sound judgement, knowing when to seek help. 
Requirements: 
  • Attend interview and volunteer orientation. 
  • Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Police Check (if over the age of 18). 
  • Completion of a 2-step Mantoux (tuberculosis) test. 
  • Volunteer consent form signed by parent/guardian (if under the age of 18).
