About This Opportunity
Looking for 2-3 volunteers to help out our daily field trips in Creekside Park (in Coldstream) for the first 3 weeks of October (weekdays only). The staff at ABNC will be teaching over 40 children in the morning and over 40 in the afternoon about the Salmon Lifecycle and what the Watershed model is, as well as taking a walk along the stream to see the live Salmon in action!
The volunteers will help keep the kids in line, and help keep them from wandering out of sight as we will be along a busy road and a dog park.
Also, most importantly to help keep them out of the water and off the riverbanks, to ensure the safety of the Salmon and the maintenance of their habitat.
Get some fresh air while learning how to care for our salmon friends! Mucky boots and weather appropriate gear are recommended. All other materials, supplies, scripts and equipment are provided.
Bear Safety training is provided specifically for this volunteer role.
