About This Opportunity
The Shop Assist volunteer will assist isolated seniors and adults with disabilities with their grocery needs. Volunteers will pick up pre-ordered groceries from the local grocery store (Walmart in Georgetown or Sobeys in Acton), and deliver to clients' homes in Georgetown or Acton. You are welcome to complete the route independently, or bring a friend and volunteer together!
As a volunteer in this role, you will...
- Pick up grocery orders from local grocery stores
- Deliver orders to clients in local area (either Georgetown or Acton)
- Physically carry grocery bags (not exceeding 50 lbs)
- Be expected to use your own vehicle to complete deliveries
- Be available to complete at least 1 route weekly (on either Wednesday or Thursday)
- Build meaningful connections with clients and help support our local community!
