About This Opportunity
Become a Shoreline Cleanup Leader and begin your independent volunteer journey by leading a cleanup in your community to create a local impact of diverting litter from waterways and a lasting impact by contributing to Shoreline Cleanup's 30-year litter database.
Volunteers can lead a cleanup at their local green or blue space by creating an account and registering their cleanup on app.ocean.org. This volunteer opportunity is self-directed, allowing volunteers to participate near their house at a time convenient to their schedules. Ocean Wise provides resources, such as a Coordinator Guide, to teach volunteers all the steps to lead their own event.
Cleanup leaders must be 19+ years of age, but minors can still participate with the support of an adult. A letter indicating the number of volunteer hours can be provided upon request.
