About This Opportunity
We know having dementia comes with losses of friend groups and hobbies and you could create a positive change by adding back in a weekly visit. You choose the day of the week and time for the 90-minute, weekly visit and we hope you will visit for 6 months or more (minimum of 3 month commitment) The matches are based on the likelihood that you and the person living in your community will enjoy each other’s company. We are actively looking for kind, reliable individuals to volunteer in the community, is that you?
Will You Join Us? Your involvement will make a positive social experience for the person living with dementia and a short weekly respite for the care partner. Volunteers go through screening, are provided education and then matched based on location and interest.
We talked about books that we are reading and our favorite authors. We share and always laugh. She always tells me how much she enjoys our visits, and I am grateful to have this opportunity. SR Volunteer
