Who We Are:
Reena is a non-profit organization that promotes dignity, individuality, independence, personal growth, and community inclusion for people with diverse abilities within a framework of Jewish culture and values since 1973. During the summer, Camp Reena offers a fun and nurturing environment for children, teens, and adults to experience all that a traditional summer camp offers in a program suited to meet the individual needs of our campers.
The Opportunity:
Gain hands-on experience working with individuals who have diverse needs and abilities. Summer Camp Volunteers can expect to create a deep connection with one or two participants at Camp Reena, assist staff in setting up, facilitating & taking down activities, and develop leadership skills.
Camp location: 927 Clark Avenue West, Thornhill, L4J 8G6
Volunteers may select up to 4 weeks they would like to volunteer for Camp Reena from the list below:
1. Week 1: June 29 - July 3 (4-day week - no camp July 1)
2. Week 2 - July 6 - July 10
3. Week 3 - July 13 - July 17t
4. Week 4 - July 20 - July 24
5. Week 5 - July 27 - July 31
6. Week 6 - August 4 - August 7 (4-day week - no camp August 3)
7. Week 7 - August 10 - August 14
8. Week 8 - August 17 - August 21
Reena requires all volunteers under the age of 18 to provide a parental consent form before beginning their placement, Reena will assist with this process.
Reena requires all volunteers over the age of 18 to obtain and provide a “clear” Vulnerable Sector Screening before beginning their placement, Reena will assist with this process.
Reena requires references and will provide successful candidates with orientation and on-line training.
