About This Opportunity

Arthritis Fire Ball Vancouver 

Position Overview 

The Vancouver Arthritis Fire Ball™ is Arthritis Society Canada’s signature fundraising gala, an evening of glamour and inspiration that raises critical funds to help extinguish arthritis. Funds raised through the event support our mission pillars of research, innovation, advocacy, and information and support, driving fearlessly toward our vision of a world without arthritis. 

This year’s Fire Ball will feature a special performance by Juno award-winning vocal group and Arthritis Society Canada volunteers, The Tenors. 


We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to play a vital role in creating an exceptional experience for our guests. Volunteers will assist with event logistics, guest registration and assistance, and ensuring smooth operations during fundraising activities. 


Time Commitment 


  • Event Date & Time: Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM PST (volunteers may be asked to arrive earlier to assist with setup). 

  • Location: Fairmont Waterfront- 900 Canada Place Way, Vancouver, BC V6C 3L5 

  • Shifts are available for setup, event execution, and teardown. 

  • Additional orientation and training will be provided prior to the event. 


Key Areas of Responsibility 

  • Setup & Decoration: Help transform the venue into an elegant event space and assist the decoration team. 

  • Guest Registration: Welcome guests, manage check-in, and guide them to their tables. 

  • Silent Auction & Fundraising: Assist with auction setup, promote activities, and support donations. 

  • Event Coordination: Ensure smooth operations and a memorable guest experience. 


Desired Skills, Attributes & Qualifications 


Enthusiasm for community events and supporting a great cause. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive mindset to assist where needed. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Physical ability to assist with event setup or standing for extended periods.

Availability and Working Environment 


This is an in-person opportunity, with activities taking place at the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver. Volunteers must be available for assigned shifts during the event and have reliable transportation to and from the venue.
