About This Opportunity

Summary 

The Volunteer Bookkeeper will join our highly skilled team of passionate volunteers, committed to furthering our mission, working in partnership with the Board Chair and reporting to the Executive Director. This role allows you to work remotely, making your own schedule of roughly two hours per week, with some exceptions as necessary. 

Bridget’s Bunnies Pregnancy and Infant Loss Foundation works to ensure no one endures pregnancy or infant loss alone. Founded in 2018 and operating out of Barrie, ON, our focus is on ensuring timely access to our comfort kit program within Simcoe-Muskoka and on Bridget’s Run, our annual memorial event and fundraiser. 

Possible Duties: 

  • Reconciling ledgers and bank accounts
  • Preparing and filing government remittances
  • Maintaining all company records in electronic accounting software (incl. posting general journals and bank reconciliations)
  • Production of period end financial statements, including bank info, cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets
  • Preparation of year-end packages for accountants, i.e. preparing trial balance, adjusting entries, reconciling accounts
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
  • Generate reports detailing accounts receivable status and aging report

Qualifications: 

  • Proven bookkeeping experience (charity experience an asset) • College diploma in Accounting, or equivalent • Experience with QuickBooks • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to manage time, and work on own initiatives to meet deadlines • CPA Designation an asset
